Police in Dhaka have arrested two women for marrying each other. They are now faced with the prospect of life imprisonment, apart from threats to their lives from the religious conservative section of Bangaldesh. With this, Bangladesh has violated its solemn commitment to the UNHRC during last year’s UPR to protect the rights of the LGBT community.
